These
three sessions on this video are loosely based on Suzanne Deason's
excellent "Yoga Conditioning for Weight Loss". There are some extra
poses and others are practised slightly differently but the same,
strong theme runs through them. Whereas the full practise lasts
for three quarters of an hour, these shortened versions can more
easily fit into the gaps before or after a working day.
One
of the sessions is billed as being for morning practise, one for
evenings and the third "bonus" routine gives extra advice and practise
with breathing. The first two make extensive use of props, including
a belt and a foam "wedge". The latter is not really necessary, as
a cushion seems to work equally well. The "bonus" session manages
to leave out all props and introduces some more extreme versions
of the poses.
All
three sessions are filmed entirely outside, the two main ones on
the seashore in Hawaii and the bonus practise has a woodland & mountain
backdrop. This natural atmosphere greatly enhances the practise.
Perhaps their greatest benefit is that they are relatively short
and can be fitted into a spare half hour.
